Key Fob and Chip Key Replacement in Whittier

Modern car keys contain a chip that talks to the car's immobilizer. When a fob is lost, cracked or stops working, we can supply a replacement and program it to your vehicle where it is parked.

What a key fob does

A fob locks and unlocks the doors remotely, and on many vehicles it also carries the transponder chip the engine needs before it will start. That is why a basic copy without the right chip may open the doors but not start the car.

Our replacement process

  1. We confirm the make, model, year and key type.
  2. We quote for the fob, cutting and programming.
  3. On site, we cut any blade and program the fob and chip.
  4. We test locking, unlocking and starting before we leave.

Battery or broken case?

Sometimes the fix is simpler: a weak battery or a cracked shell. We will check that first so you only pay for what you need.

Frequently asked questions

Can you program a spare so I have two?

Yes, and having a spare is usually much cheaper than replacing a key after all copies are lost.

Do I need to tow the car to you?

No. Our mobile service comes to the vehicle.
